Christmas 2009
We enjoyed Logan's 1st Christmas at home this year.
We couldn't believe that just one year ago we were spending Christmas in the hospital. How time has flown by.
We spent Christmas Eve at my parents house helping them decorate their tree, a Spera tradition, eating lunch & then exchanging gifts. He loved the tool bench that Aunt Helen gave him. Then off to Aunt Tara's parents house, Grandma & Grandpa Hebden where he figured out how to open the gifts. It was so cute to watch.
Christmas Day we spent the morning together at home opening gifts. I think Justin & I were more excited than Logan was. Logan loved his Thomas the Train ride on toy & wanted Justin to push him around the house in it. Then off to Justin's parents we went, Nonna & Granddad's, where he played with his cousins Katherine & Joseph. Joseph can really get him laughing like no one else. It was great watching the two of them together. We sat down for an early dinner then off again to open some more gifts. Nonna & Granddad bought Logan a toy box which all three kids got into for
a great photo shot.
All in all it was a wonderful Christmas spent with the people we love.

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY LOGAN
We had to post-pone Logan's 1st birthday party due to a blizzard that came through to Sunday. His party was themed Eagles football. We had all the foods you would eat if you were tailgating to a Philadelphia Eagles game. Logan had a great time playing with his friends & helping Mommy opening his gifts. He loved the balloons & the ribbon the most & eating his first cupcake. He didn't dive into it. He poked at it & smiled so Daddy had to feed it to him. He ate the whole thing.
We would like to thank everyone who made Logan's 1st Birthday such a special day.

Winter Wonderland at Waterloo Gardens
Logan & his two cousins, Katherine & Joseph, meet up at Waterloo Gardens in Exton PA to get some holiday pictures taken. The kids were full of great smiles & excited about all the different decorated Christmas trees. At the end of our trip they had their pictures taken with Santa, Logan wasn't to happy about that.

Getting Ready for the Holiday Season!!!
Logan had his first photo taken with Santa earlier this month. He did not cry, which we were glad about, he just wasn't sure about the big guy dressed in red...he was a
BIG Santa.
On Friday my girlfriend Tara & I took Logan to the National Christmas Center in Paradise, PA. We were skeptical at first but it turned out to be a great day. Logan was such a good boy. He loved the Christmases around the World. There was so much to see, the old Woolworth's 5 & 10 store was amazing. We are going to make it a tradition to take Logan there every December. I can't wait to see through his eyes again next year.

Playing in the Leaves!
The weather has been so beautiful for the past few days, perfect weather to build a leaf pile with Logan. Aunt Michelle came over & Logan was not sure about the leaves. It was funny watching him keep his arms up in the air. The next day he loved them & kept putting the leaves ontop of his head but wanted to eat them also....yuck!

Pumpkins & Halloween!!!

This year we painted our pumpkins instead of carving them. Mostly to celebrate the Phillies making it for the second year in a row to the World Series against the Yankees.

For Logan's first Halloween he dressed up as a Dragon. He had a great time at Tia Walda's house helping Mommy hand out the candy.

Fall Festival
Today Logan & I went to the Lower Providence Fall Festival. It was so much fun. Logan got his name translated in Chinese, watched a puppet show about Halloween, enjoyed his first snow cone with me & went to his first little petting zoo. The day was complete when he got to ride a pony again. This time he laughed the whole way.

Playdate With The Della Vella Clan!
Today we had a playdate with Lindsay, my girlfriend of 20 years & her kids, Vincent, Jonathon & Caroline. Vincent found a little white ball outside that kept him busy all day. Jonathon played so nicely with Logan. Caroline loved playing with Logan's stuffed Curious George. Logan was not used to all the noise & I think was overstimulated cause once the playdate was over he past out for a long afternoon nap.

Enjoying Trappe Community Day!
We enjoyed a nice fall day at the Water Works Park in Trappe PA with the Hess family. We walked around & enjoyed some funnel cake, tried to chase after Screwball, the mascot for the Reading Phillies & Logan and Aiden both enjoyed their first pony rides. We can't wait to go again next year when Logan can enjoy the moon bounces.

Labor Day Picnic
We celebrated Labor Day a day early at my parents house with friends & family. Logan played with his cousins Anthony & Courtney. It was nice seeing all the kids playing together. End of summer is here.

Logan Loving the BIG Pool!
We spent the day at Grandma & Poppi's visiting family & especially Logan's new cousin Anthony. This was Logan's second time in the big pool, the first time it was to cold & he didn't like it. He loved it this time. Uncle PJ & Aunt Michelle swirled him around. He also loved just floating around in his little tub. We can't wait to go back another warm summer day to enjoy the pool.

Bowling for IBC
Inflammatory Breast Cancer
On Saturday August 15th we attended the 6th annual IBC bowling event at Facenda-Whitaker Lanes.
After a six-year courageous battle with inflammatory breast cancer, Julie Bigoski, the woman who was the inspiration for IBC Bowling Day, passed away on August 3, 2009. She was 60 years old.
This year we raised $29,700 dollars to help in finding the cause of this devastating disease that is claiming the lives of our loved ones.
If you are interested in donating to this cause or would like to find out more information about IBC please contact www.ibcresearch.org

Welcome, our new nephew, Anthony Peter Spera
My little brother & sister in-law just welcomed their first baby, Anthony Peter. Born today at 12:45 pm. He weight 6 lbs. 7 oz. & was 21 inches long. He has a full head of black hair like his Daddy has & also like Logan did when he was born. I can't believe that PJ is a Daddy, but know that he is going to a wonderful one. All three are doing well. Logan & I went to visit with the new family today.

Exciting Day!!!
I took Logan to Sesame Place for the first time today with his Grandma, Auntie BB, Denae & her kids & Jeannine & Liam. He loved it! He especially enjoyed Elmo's World. He laughed & clapped along with the songs. We had to make our stay shorter than we thought because it started to rain. We had a great time anyway.

Logan Has a Tooth!!!!
On Friday August 7th his first tooth finally broke through. I was getting scared that he wouldn't get his first tooth till his first birthday like his Mommy. Now he is working on tooth #2.

Pool Time
Logan LOVES spending time outside in his pool. He splashes the whole time making Mommy all wet too.

Justin & I meet at Millersville University in 1998, fell in love & got married on September 18, 2004. We were blessed on December 23, 2008 with the birth of our precious son, Logan Salvatore. This blog is about us & what we do daily.
